" Within each of us lies the power of our
consent to health and sickness, to riches
and poverty, to freedom and slavery, It is
we who control these, not another."

 Richard Bach (Illusions)

Will I be in a trance or unconscious/asleep?

When in this altered state of consciousness called hypnosis, you are very aware of where you are and what is happening, though feeling wonderfully relaxed.  Research at Stanford University in California testing the brainwaves of hypnotised subjects with an electroencephalograph (EEG) has shown that during hypnosis the brain emits alpha waves indicating a mentally alert but physically relaxed state, whereas in subjects who are asleep, slower delta and theta waves are more dominant.

Will I be under the hypnotherapist’s control?

Definitely not. Even under deep hypnosis you never lose control.  You can always reject any suggestions given to you.

Can everyone be hypnotised?

Nearly every one who wants to be hypnotised can be and no one can be hypnotised against their will.

How long is a session and how many will I need?

As well as using hypnosis, Chris aims to teach you self hypnosis and specific techniques such as EFT, EMDR, NLP in order to empower you so that you can continue to help yourself at home, thus minimising the number of sessions required.  If possible, she attempts to deal with the presenting issue in just one session, so the length of the session can last up to 2 hours.  However, some issues such as weight loss and addictions normally require further follow up sessions, but it is left for you to decide when or if you need to return. Stopping smoking is covered in just one session, but a free follow up session is offered if you have a relapse during the following month.
